Program 25.June 2026
” Cosmic Hide-and-Seek: What Eclipses Tell Us About Binary Stars” (in English) by Dr. Emma Bordier
This August, millions of people will look up to watch a solar eclipse in Spain, as the Moon briefly hides the Sun from view. But did you know that similar eclipses occur throughout our Galaxy every day? By catching these stellar eclipses, astronomers can uncover the secrets of stars: their masses, sizes, and even their ultimate fate. Join us on a journey through the hidden lives of stellar couples and discover how these distant eclipses reveal some of the most spectacular phenomena in the Universe, and, ultimately, the story of our cosmic origins.
