Basics of communication; exploring the media landscape; scientific knowledge on the way from specialist publication to the media; practice in writing for general understanding;
Writing a press release and/or a generally understandable article including a review.
The course is aimed specifically at female scientists, who are often still underrepresented in the media. Among other things, the following questions are addressed:
How do I place a topic in the media? Is there a bias in the selection of researchers on the part of media professionals, and what does this look like? Are there gender-specific differences in the initiative to get one’s own research into the media and how can this be counteracted if necessary?

The Diversity Board held this event in December 2023 with the following objectives:
– Networking between female scientists of the CRC1601 on different career levels (from students to Professors) and from different institutes.
– Announcement of CRC 1601 Diversity Board funding possibilities
– Raising awareness about new female career promotion funding in 2024
